There are numerous audio players available on the Internet, but most of them look the same and they don't provide something new, to help us locate our favorite songs faster and easier. aTunes comes with everything you need to organize your music properly. It allows you to access a wide range of information about a song's album or artist as you play it and it places a good number of tools at your disposal, to make your work easier.

You don't have to buy a license if you intend to use aTunes, but you can make a donation if you want to. The software is available for Windows, Mac and Linux platforms and it takes about a minute to install it. Besides the main files, you can choose to extract the program's source code and to install additional encoders for Windows operating systems.

The user interface is divided into three areas. You can access your music repository on the left side. Audio files are categorized automatically by their artists, but you can also categorize them by albums, genres or years. The repository is a music folder, on your hard drive, which you must select yourself. You may select additional folders in the program's general settings menu. Even if you dump all your music into a repository folder, without organizing the files in separate folders, the software will categorize them right away.

When you add new audio files to a selected folder, you may categorize them instantly, just by refreshing the repository, on the program's interface. The central region of the window is the place where you may compile one or more playlists, by clicking and dragging files from the repository. While a track is playing, you will find information about the song, the album and the artist, on the right side of the interface. You can also find similar artists and YouTube search results for the current track.

If you connect a portable audio player to your computer, the software will categorize its contained tracks the same way as the files in your repository. aTunes comes with a large collection of online radio stations, which can be added to one or more playlists, just like audio tracks. You can add your own radio stations, podcast feeds or import music from an audio CD. Other features can be used to edit a track's tag information, find lyrics, repair track numbers, genres or albums and more.

Pros

The software is capable of categorizing your music automatically. It allows you to create multiple playlists with audio tracks, radio stations or podcast feeds. While playing a track, you can find a wide range of information about the song, artists or album, on the same interface.

Cons

There are no serious issues to mention. You don't need to waste your time organizing and categorizing your music, while using aTunes. The software will do all the work for you.
