If you are not satisfied with your default media player, you can choose from a wide variety of alternatives. An excellent example is aTunes, which is offered free of charge, for all major platforms. The application is capable of sorting your music automatically and it provides you with a good amount of information about songs and artists. Also, its simple and efficient design enables you to play and manage your music without any effort.

aTunes can work with one or more music repositories, which you can import by adding their corresponding folders to a list, in the general settings menu. Imported folders and their contained audio tracks are listed on the left side of the user interface, where you can also view favorite artists, albums or tracks, the contents of removable devices, online radio streams and podcast subscriptions, on separate tabs.

You may create multiple playlists, on different tabs, in the central region of the interface, by simply clicking and dragging your audio files, radio streams or podcasts. When you play an audio track, from one of your local repositories, the application will display the song's lyrics and information about the artist and album. You can also find similar artists, in the same area, as well as links to online videos.

The application includes other useful features as well. It provides you with the necessary tools to fix track numbers and genre or album details. Also, it gives you the possibility of editing tags, saving, exporting and loading playlists and more.

Pros

Audio files are organized automatically when you import them. The application allows you to compile several playlists, with local audio files, radio streams, files from removable devices and more. In addition, aTunes provides you with various details about the songs you play.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to mention. Besides a good selection of advanced tools, aTunes provides you with a more comfortable experience, when it comes to playing and managing music.
